Non-rich people create jobs to become rich.
I know a few self employed people who ended up creating jobs and employ people because of demand for their services. NONE of them are rich (as in filty rich)...because none of them are greedy. They pay their workers fairly...and don't have share holders to worry about. Many are quite happy with how their businesses are going.
Not everyone has the mighty dollar as their number one priority in life. Some people care more about people than profit...I know its a strange concept to some..but its true. It does exist.
Small and medium sized businesses contribute much to the economy...via employment and GDP
- The small business sector makes a sizeable contribution to GDP, although this is somewhat less than its contribution to employment. The OECD concludes that a “vigorous” SME (small and medium sized enterprise) sector makes a positive contribution to economic growth.
- Data also suggests that small businesses have been a major force driving employment growth.

i remember when i was a "devout" jws i could not wait to get the new watchtowers and awakes from the wednesday nite theocratic ministry school.

i would actually salivate thinking of the new information jehovah had in the magazines for us.

i was "franatical" and i would go home still in my three piece suit and devour the magazines that very nite.

LOL you just summed it up yourself! DEMAND creates jobs!
Yup, and the problem is. That huge corporations create jobs elsewhere where they can find the cheapest labour because they want MORE profits for their shareholders. So yeah. They create jobs alright. But where? They get huge tax breaks, and are not contributing to the economy.

The Government never loses
The government has become a puppet for big corporations and banks. THEY are the ones that NEVER lose. The government just funnels tax payer money TO them. Bank bail outs, weapons sales, WAR. All profits for corporations. While the workers have to struggle to afford health care and give up their homes.

the bulk of the wealth is hoarded, and THAT'S why we have poverty.
When you have a limited amount of money in the world...and they, the 1% (as you put it, the filthy rich), have most of it tucked away safely...what does everyone else get to live on? They get to divvy up whats left and work their asses off for a small chunk of the remaining pie.
